However, despite it's widespread reassessment as one of the best games on the console, the games dedicated fanbase remains small and splintered. Because of this, the information on the game that manages exist online has unfortunately remained largely uncollected, unsourced, and anecdotal. I really love the game, so I thought that I would do my best to collect all of the sources that I can, here on this page! Let's Get Bonus :]
My Archival Efforts:
Voice Line Sound BanksThanks to YouTube user @SM_239, I was able to rip the voice lines and other sounds directly from the game. I have uploaded them to The Sounds Resource (where they are pending approval) as well as Archive.org.
Soundtracks
Luckily, the soundtracks for both S&P games are very easy to find in lots of places online. For safekeeping, I have uploaded both to Archive.org.
Dengeki Daioh Manga Run (English Translation)
Uploaded to reddit by user MisterAdam22 spread across around 9 posts, this is an apparent fan translation of the Sin & Punishment manga adaptation originally released around 2001 in the magazine Dengeki Daioh. I was not able to find any trace of this translation, or the original scans of the magazine anywhere online, so if you know who translated this or have access, please let me know and archive it! If you'd like to read it online I have uploaded it to Archive.org, or you can download the pages directly by clicking here.
Other Files and Info:
Official Nintendo Sin & Punishment Promotional SiteThe best official source for info on the game that I have been able to hunt down is this old part of Nintendo's website that is luckily still up! Though it's in Japanese, I have been able to source some basic information (mainly release dates) using the auto translate function in my web browser. This could make a great source for info on the lore of the game, but I think it would be for the best to hand-translate the pages before spreading the info in order to prevent confusion and errors.
"Iwata Asks" Interview
An official Nintendo interview with a few Treasure employees conducted in promotion of S&P2 shining a lot of light on the development conditions of the original game.
Light Novel
Contributed to Archive.org by user mushroom32x. Supposedly released January 25th 2001, this light novel seems like it could be an incredible source for figuring out some of the more confusing aspects of the story. Unfortunately I do not speak japanese! This is a great candidate for fan-translation and I hope someone gets to it eventually :]
This may be a good time to mention that it's entirely possible that a sin and punishment fansite did exist at some point, but in another language. If anyone has any leads about this game at all, please email me.
Strategy Guide
Also untranslated, and also contributed to Archive.org by user mushroom32x! This book has some pretty cool and interesting art and character bios to check out.
Physical Copy Scans
Extremely high-res scans of the original box, cart, and manual! Uploaded by Archive.org user ozidual.
S&P TV Tropes Page
This rundown of the tropes in the game is surprisingly robust and I found it very fun to read :]
Thank you for checking out my page! I hope this helps you enjoy this awesome game in some way. If you know any more sources let me know and I'll add them to the list. Good Bye <3
