Day of the Dead
theres a scene in this movie that really effectively illustrates the similarity between science and religion, specifically in the way that they are both expressions of the human struggle to answer existential questions and believe that their lives can mean something more than the constant inescapable Now. even if that something is mainly just the carefully documented endless march of human 'progress'. well why do all that though huh? why believe in god, why believe in progress? for most of us the reason probably has a lot to do with the fact that its just what we've been given, we're already in this paradigm so just put one foot in front of the other and keep shambling. i mean, how are we even supposed to conceptualize a life outside of this framework? can you really just let go, stop struggling, embody the present moment and leave it all behind? its not even just that its easier said than done, its hard to SAY. its hard to think about what that would Really look like. part of the function of capitalism is to pull a shroud over our ability to even imagine anything else. and yet all things wither away and die. to live is to provide the fertile soil for your own eventual rebirth. maybe in the mean time we can hang out and chill real relaxing and love each other and stuff and maybe we can start that rebirth before we even have to physically die even if its just a little bit in spirit :). I'll see you, at the beach, (death stranding 2 (funny joke)). anyway yeah day of the dead really really good movie i think george is a genius i believe in you george.
